Steps for Web browser

  1. Go to design.penpot.app and create a free account (an email address is enough).
  2. Use the latest Chrome or Firefox for the best experience (Safari also works).
  3. Invite your team; the free plan covers up to 8 members.

Steps for Your own server

  1. You need a Linux server with Docker and Docker Compose, plus basic DNS and HTTPS proxy setup.
  2. Download the official docker-compose.yaml and start it as the guide shows.
  3. Open your server’s address in a browser to start using Penpot.
